Backstory
Fury was born on a volcanic planet, on the world’s only colony. With the planet being particularly rich in various ores, the colony was entirely focused on extracting those resources and shipping them out to the rest of the galaxy. As a result of this, both of Fury’s parents were miners, having spent a decade in the mines. As things looked, Fury seemed destined to follow that path. However, things would not work out like that. Fury was, from birth, not exactly like the other children. They had anger issues and could explode at any minute, never fully in control of their emotions. Naturally, this proved quite a headache for Fury’s parents – not only was their child hard to control, Fury also had a terribly hard time making friends. And while friends were not necessary, her parents also knew that Fury would have a hard time being amicable at work. And in a colony as small as theirs, where everybody knew everybody, being known as a hostile person severely limited one’s employment opportunities. As such, when government agents came to the colony looking to recruit children for a special project, Fury’s parents were more than happy to let the agents examine their kid. It turned out, Fury was more than suited to the project. Fury had untapped psychokinetic abilities, which, if unlocked, would let them exploit fire and unseen forces. This was also an explanation for Fury’s behavior – it was a sort of a feedback loop, with Fury’s latent powers fueling their emotions and their emotions fueling the powers. In fact, had the agents not come, Fury’s powers might have blossomed into a disaster for the whole colony. And so, the government agents took Fury away. Fury’s parents thought that this would only be a temporary thing, with their child coming home once they were an adult. They would never return. The project was not a simple study. Rather, it was meant to produce super-soldiers, men and women who could harness their psychic abilities to devastating effect. The project sought to make specialists to fulfill the most dangerous of missions. And so, Fury’s life for the next few years was hell. They underwent rigorous training, getting filled with drugs and potent spices to fully activate their abilities. Moreover, they also took lessons in hand-to-hand combat, as well as piloting. Fury was trained as a shock assault soldier, made to attack a crowd of hostiles and then evacuate after the damage was done. It was a difficult time, but Fury truly did gain power. Their mastery over fire was unparalleled, and soon enough the project was finished with them. From that moment on, there came time for Fury to begin life as an operator, taking on dangerous missions.
