Isla Aether
The jewel of the skies, Isla Aether is the largest of the Skyloft cities. The doughnut-shaped main platform actually rings the peak of Mount Witney.
Unlike its fellows - which were built hastily, accidentally or with simple practicality in mind - Isla Aether was built for beauty and aesthetics.
Around the edge of the doughnut is a mass of mooring sites and platform extensions. Underneath the platforms are vast gasbags; whether there would be enough helium to raise the city is a source of much bar-room speculation.
Around the dockyards are many saloons and trading houses. No goods are illegal; not even slaves, who are in constant demand to work the terraced farms below the city.
Government
The city is ruled by a Governor who is answerable to a Council of Oligarchs (made up of the richest merchants). The Governor is only intended to be a figurehead.
