Überdoer
Überdoers are individuals in the land of Eden who regularly commit heroic acts, usually for the benefit of all Edenians. Überdoer culture, however, like celebrity culture in The Real World, is largely a construct invented by certain segments of the general public.
Generally speaking, the only thing most überdoers have in common is their desire to make the world a better place.
Culture
Common Dress code
Given that Edenians have access, either via the Edenian Athenæum or the EdenNet, to heroic aesthetics from across well over 600 iterations of reality, fans of überdoers know what they like and what they don’t like in überdoer couture.
Most of the time, spandex is preferred over black leather. Überdoer fans tend to like the classic, colorful comic book look rather than the more subdued look found in early film adaptations.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Überdoers are expected to be good-natured, kind-hearted, and funny. They are expected to be respectful of the general populace and to never look down upon their “lessers.”
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Though überdoers come in all shapes and sizes, it is sadly the truth—in Eden as in many places within the Clarkwoods Literary Universe—that appearances matter more than they should.
The ideal überdoer for most fans of the culture is incredibly fit. Male-presenting überdoers are expected to be well-muscled, while female-presenting individuals are expected to sport hourglass figures—or something close to it.
Courtship Ideals
Fans of überdoers believe that these “gods among men” should be flirting with anything that moves and constantly in search of someone who can help them produce the next generation of awesome. That said, fans expect überdoers to be as respectful in their romantic lives as they are when saving lives and saving the world.
Relationship Ideals
Monogamy and polygamy are equally respected by überdoer fans. They simply expect überdoers to be honest about who they are and what they’re looking for in a relationship.
