The Golden Pit
Signing up to fight in the Pit is the easy part. It's getting out that's hard. Anyone can walk up and sign up for a fight, but when it comes time, you're paired with whoever the Ledgermann thinks is appropriate. You could be up against the scrawniest thug, or a beast far beyond your ability. When a matchup is decided betting begins and ends when something hits the floor. Not all fights end in death, but it's common enough that certain organizations will fix the matchups to make sure an unfavored member meets a public end. It's one of the cleanest ways to get rid of liability.
