Historic Fantasy
Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier (a.k.a. Marquis de Lafayette)
Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, was a French aristocrat and military officer who played a significant role in the American and French revolutions. As a young man, he defied the king's order and joined the American Revolution, becoming a close friend of George Washington and a symbol of Franco-American friendship. Later, Lafayette was a key figure in the early stages of the French Revolution, leading the National Guard in Paris and striving for a constitutional monarchy. His moderate stance, however, ultimately alienated royalists and revolutionaries alike.
