When traveling the mortal realm, our family frequently encounters people who spark their attention. These encounters, with rare exceptions, are transitory in nature but often leave a lasting mark on both souls. For the sake of clarity, I have attempted to break these connections into a few categories:
Favored Encounters
These are the mortals who have unknowingly benefitted from their time spent with a godling. Whether through debates, conversations, modeling for art, dancing, or simply existing in the godling’s presence, they are subtly improved. The inherent divinity of the godling provides inspiration, eases burdens, or enhances their creative abilities. The mortal may leave the encounter feeling lighter, wiser, or more capable, unaware of the divine touch that influenced their spirit.
Dalliances
In these relationships, godlings have taken their encounters a step further, engaging in physical connections with mortals. Whether it’s a stolen kiss or more intimate encounters, these mortals experience the divine physically. Dalliances may be playful, filled with warmth, or simply a part of the godling’s broader experience with mortal life. While deeper emotions aren’t always involved, these connections leave lasting impressions on those mortals fortunate enough to experience them.
Paramours
Paramours are those rare mortals who have sparked genuine love in the heart of a godling. Unlike fleeting Dalliances, Paramours form a deeper, more emotional connection, where the godling’s affection and attention are genuine. These mortals might experience moments of divinity intertwined with true romantic connection, feeling a love that surpasses mortal boundaries. This bond, though often temporary, burns brightly in the godling's eternal life.
Cathbhraithre
For those seeking a bond beyond the mortal coil, the concept of
Cathbhráithre, or soulmates, transcends all other connections. These are the mortals whose souls are entwined with the godling’s on a spiritual level. These will be listed as relationships.
