History

For millennia, civilizations gazed up at the sea of stars, longing to traverse its cosmic waters but lacking the means. Warp drives unlocked the ability to breach interstellar gulfs, but navigating safely remained an immense challenge. Complex gravitational forces, dark matter flows, and spatial anomalies lurk unseen, shipwrecking vessels not charted by skilled pioneers.
Dr. Amara Thessius sought to remedy this. A brilliant Meraxa Polytechnic astrophysicist, in 99 OC she left academia, assembling top engineers and programmers - including her partner Dr. Jens Moreau - to found Rigel Corporation. Their vision: develop intelligent navigation systems enabling safe, reliable interstellar travel for all.
The work was arduous, pushing contemporary computing to its limits. But in 108 OC, they achieved a breakthrough, unveiling the prototype for what would become Rigel's Paradigm Navigator-1. Its adaptive neural matrices mapped probabilities across local space-time routes previously too hazardous to attempt. Rigorous testing proved its uncanny accuracy and reliability. With corporate investment secured, Thessius' team rapidly refined their sentinel of the spaceways. In 114 OC, the mass-produced Navigator-1 was integrated into fleet ships across human space.
For the first time, guided by this intelligent pilot, ships could smoothly traverse the pitfalls of Eldrispace. No longer were vessels and crews lost to treacherous gravity wells or uncharted anomalies.
Efficient courses were laid for distant stars. As Rigel's reputation soared, Navigator systems were soon adopted by other spacefaring races. Through embodying Thessius' ethos of exploration with safety and care, this miraculous software became synonymous with journeying the heavens.
