Anatim Empire
The Empire is part of the Old World and a major power in its version of south Asia.
Structure
The Empire is divided into regions with their own prelate who oversees all that goes on there and is responsible for all administrative work. Each such region is represented at the central government by a number of senators depending on their population. Senators are elected by the nobility, but if enough commoners gather in protest, they can veto a person from the rank.
The Emperor themselves is the ultimate authority and capable of overriding any decision made by the senate. They are the commander in chief of the army and the capital's guards, as well as in charge of all administration. The title is inherited by the oldest and closest living relative (usually the former Emperor's child), but the Senate can, in theory, replace the Emperor through two unanimous votes with an election in-between. Considering the Emperor's control of the army, it is unlikely this will ever happen.
Culture
Humans would likely compare a lot of the clothing and architecture to that of ancient Mediterranean civilizations such as Rome or Greece. But there are also hints of Aztec-like aesthetics. Strength and honor are key values for them, but that strength can be equally shown in the arts and sciences as in battle.
Public Agenda
Determining the strength of the Empire is hard for those trapped as Lemuria shifted, but defending the ruins that are left is a major concern. There is no hierarchy to rely on anymore and no government to assist those in trouble or tax those who aren't. This means every remaining citizen is free to fend for themselves, for better or worse.
Military
The Anatim army is fiercely loyal to the Emperor and strives towards complete dedication to combat. There is no such thing as a half-hearted Anatimi soldier. They give their all or die trying. Of course, this becomes more than a little confusing to those now stranded on Earth, such as Athena.
