Spell Scrolls & Unique Conduits

Spell Scrolls

Spells can be purchased from book merchants, fellow channelers, and temples for three times the spell level in gold coins.

Any spells that have a requirement listed in its stats are rarer and require a d100 to be rolled when looking to purchase them. If a 50-100 is rolled, the spell is found but cost fifteen times the level in gold coins.

Spells come on single sheets of parchment for you to transcribe into your spell book, if you wish. The spells can be used directly from the scroll, but if a conduit is not used, the scroll is destroyed upon use.

Spell scrolls have their own difficulty rating and accuracy based on their level. The accuracy or spell difficulty is eight plus the spell level.

8 + spell level = Accuracy or spell difficulty

Unique Conduits

Even though nearly any object can become a channeler’s conduit, there are some items that have uniquely become iconic to channelers. Although they don't provide extra benefits for channeling, the energetics community frequently acknowledges these conduits.

Blood Dagger

At first glance, this dagger appears to be a simple decorative knife. Upon closer inspection, small holes in the dagger’s blade reveal a cavity that runs down the center of the blade. This cavity stores the channeler’s blood in order to channel spells. Commonly used by channelers who use blood energetics.

Etching Hammer

This small metal hammer is about half the size of a normal hammer. It is commonly used with the etching pick when inscribing runic symbols into objects as part of the process for making runic items. This hammer is too small to be used as a weapon.

Etching Pick

This special small pick is used by channelers who specialize in crafting runic items. If needed, it can be used as a smaller version of the war pick. The pick is one tool used to etch runic symbols into objects as part of the process of making runic items.

Grimoire

Although grimoires are not recommended to be used as conduits, they are a very important and iconic tool for channelers. These books hold many spells and acts as a spell library for channelers to pick from when memorizing their spells for the day.

Rod

Small one-foot-long bar of metal or wood with an inch diameter that is specially designed to be infused with spells. Doubles as a club if needed.

Staff

A long decorative pole that has a gem or jewel fastened to one end. It can double as a bo staff if needed.

Wand

A small metal or wood decorative stick with one end formed into a point in order to direct spells when channeling.
