One of the most common methods of identifying a user with powerful magic is the physical scars or deformities it often leaves on their body, and in the case of users with
Alhari Scores higher than 1200, this can manifest as physically disabling.
Prosthetics
For most, prosthetics and braces are the only choice due to affordability and high durability with maitanance. Soldiers will often opt for metal, despite the weight, so that they don't need to worry about a bludgeon breaking it, while civilians tend to choose a wood construction for its light weight and affordability.
The most valued soldiers, if they are in need of a prosthetic or brace, can be gifted a
Pulinor or
Silver Glass brace or prosthetic for the light weight and high durability of these materials. Typically, it is the superior's way to ensure a valuable asset on the battlefield is not lost due to injury and disability.
Channeling
Upper-class civilians and sufficiently powerful battle mages use a different method known as
channeling, where either they either channel their own magic into allowing the limb to operate as normal, or hire someone to follow them and do it for them.
This magic requires a high passive concentration and familiarity with the most advanced techniques in Estyan
magic. Most nobles have the funds to pay someone else to perform the feat, and typically train the user on how to act like an advisor or servant so the person has an excuse to follow them everywhere without arousing suspicion.
