Runic Pen
The Runic Pen is a fountain pen in every sense of the word, and can be used as such, however, when filled with the user's own Well of Magic, it can be used in the arts of Enchanting, Inscription, and Spellcrafting.
Currently, there is only one runic pen that remains in active use, as many wealthy collectors and nobles buy and display these pens.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Typically made with a steel or gold outer casing and a carefully crafted obsidian mechanism to ensure proper ink flow, Runic Pens can be made out of virtually any material that can be used to craft an ordinary fountain pen. However, many runic pens are made with Pulinor Steel and Silver Glass because of the unique nature of the materials and their inherently magical properties allow for more imperfections in manufacturing in order to work properly.
The key component in differentiating a runic pen from a normal fountain pen is the ink used. Magical inks are a common means of leaving glyphs and secret messages, however, if a sorcerer taps into their own Well of Magic to fill the pen with pure magic, the Runic Pen is specially designed to be able to extract and write with the magic within.
Significance
The Runic Pen is a key tool in the practices of Enchanting, Spellcrafting, and Inscription, all of which can lead to its holder having a significant advantage over any opponents they may face.
