A Sophontist is an academic whose field of study is on Sophonce. They study the properties of the Soul, including what makes it form, its effect on its host, the host's effects on it, the great philosophical and theological ramifications, and the hard numbers which underpin it all.
Although many Sophontists are Psiolic as well, not all Psiolic are Sophontists.
