Colin Kell
4441 EA - 4487 EA
Colin Kell is one of the most famous Seruic heroes from the Second Dragon War.
He was born in 4441 EA in Port Haven, a large city in northern Serukis to poor parents. His father was a fisherman, a deckhand working on someone else's boat. When Colin was fifteen years old, his father's boat went down in a raging storm, and everyone on board drowned. This plunged Colin, his mother, and his three younger siblings into greater poverty. Colin began to work on the dockside, hauling crates and fish for a meagre wage.
After the family struggled for over a year, and with his mother unable to find stable work, Colin accepted money from a man who was in the city for the Bounty of the Sea festival in exchange for sexual favours. The influx of people during the festival allowed Colin to be relatively anonymous, and he made more money than he had ever seen in his life. After the festival had ended, Colin continued to prostitute himself to support his family, though he told his mother he had found some better-paying work on the dockside. It was not strictly a lie.
The war started in 4462 EA, when Colin was twenty-one. Like many young men in the city, he signed up for the war effort and became a soldier. The event he is most famous for is when he and a group of soldiers were pinned down on a beach by a group of dragons. Their leader had been killed and, despite his fear, Colin stepped up to lead the squad. Due to his bravery and leadership, the rest of the men took down two dragons and survived the encounter.
