Helvia is a mountainous tropical country in the east of the continent of Aenica. Over three quarters of the country is covered by the gigantic Helvian Rainforest, the largest rainforest on Etrea. Scholars believe that the forest could contain up to forty percent of the species of the world, with potentially millions still undiscovered. The rainforest sits in the basin of one of the longest rivers in Etrea, the Vatnelva; the river and its tributaries wind through the rainforest like glistening ribbons.
Helvia is a matriarchal country, ruled by the Elvken, or river queen, a title currently held by Andarta V. She has several palaces along the length of the Vatnelva though she spends about ninety percent of her time travelling up and down the river on the royal barge. Though there are a number of tribes that call Helvia home, they all recognise the authority of the Elvken.
