The Bryethegar

People of the Western Spine

The Bryethegar are humans that live in on the western lower slopes and foothills of the the Great Northern Spine, skirting the edge of both Coranir and Scarda. Their oldest settlements are closest to the mountains, making use of their verticality and hidden cave networks, whilst others are nestled in the fertile foothills, providing plenty of food for the whole region. Old trade agreements keep them on good terms with the two large countries to their west.

What's their primary export/import to the west? It's a tricky thing to rely on trade agreements with powerful neighbors - if you have something they want too much, they might conquer you for it, but if they value it too little it is no deterrent. Although perhaps the two neighbors keep each other in balance - if one were to invade, the other would object?

Having the two neighbours is definitely a benefit. I think if it was just the one powerful neighbour they would have found themselves conquered. I think they primarily export minerals/ore from within the mountains.
