The Bulwark is a large defensive wall located in the Valonian region of Serukis, several miles south of the much more dilapidated Duszan's Wall. Like its older counterpart, the Bulwark stretches from the country's eastern coast to its western one, a distance of just over fifty miles.
There is only one crossing point in the Bulwark, just north of the city of Land's Shield. As the Bulwark was built before Sgaren became absorbed into Serukis, it used to act as a border between the two countries; it was built in response to fears of renewed aggression by the Erish Empire after the end of the war of the 4450s. The crossing is not so strictly guarded nowadays.
Along the wall, which is twenty feet high at its lowest point, there are watchtowers every few miles. These are still manned to this day, though the role now is more ceremonial.
