The Marir are one of seven human tribes that make their home on the Great Plains of Akara. Their territory lies in the western part of the Great Plains, on the flat and fertile land between two rivers.
The Marir are known for breeding and raising horses, with a breed known as the Marir eurus. They are prized for their speed and stamina. It is a taboo to eat horse meat from any breed.
They have a close relationship with the Yna, a nomadic horse shapeshifter tribe that shares some of the same territory.
