The Return of Sukram

The end of the world

For hundreds of years, the Kaienese have passed down the origin story of the Teeth, the large mountain range that cuts the continent of Caia in half. They say that the range is part of the lower jawbone of Sukram, the Leviathan, a sea serpent so huge he could wrap around the whole of Etrea. According to legend, the Elemental Monarchs struck him down and his massive body became the land of the world.
It is believed that one day Sukram may be resurrected, and when that day comes, all land will once again become Sukram and sink beneath the waves. Sukram will be so angry at the memory of his defeat that he will swallow the planet whole, and all life will come to an end. Specifics on when and why this will happen are vague, but it is generally agreed that the cessation of worship of the Five Lords would bring the resurrection about.
There is a cult that lives in the mountains who are actively seeking to bring about the end of days. They do not know exactly how that will be accomplished, but they try nonetheless.
