The Seer's Grotto

Located under the Whispering Sea, the Seer's Grotto is a natural underwater cave sacred to the Scillari. The cave itself is relatively small, only a hundred feet across at its widest point, but it remains a prime location for prayer and meditation. The walls of the cave are covered with clusters of glowing pink crystals, known as roshinite; whilst these crystals are found elsewhere across the Caerlean Ocean, it is never in such numbers. It is forbidden to remove these crystals from the grotto, but there is a large scar on the back wall where someone has stolen some in the past.   The Scillari believe that the grotto was once home to their god, Iryex, who had the power of divination. Their religion tells that he retreats to the cave in times where the world is in turmoil and, as long as the cave is empty, any tribulations that occur will pass. In practice, the cave is rarely empty as there are usually one or two merfolk utilising it for some prayer or quiet time, but they are not Iryex so it does not count.

Ooo I love the little aside about how someone has stolen the crystals before.
