William Kid
William Kidd is a Water Aspect Dragon-Blooded exalted who serves as the first mate of the Ship The Eclipse under Captain Morgan's command. He was born as a "Lost Egg" from House V'neef, one of the Great Houses of the Realm, but he did not follow the traditional path of joining the House's navy or attending a cloister.
Instead, William took to the seas and became a skilled sailor, eventually finding his way to The Eclipse and earning the trust and respect of Captain Morgan. He is a consummate professional with a dry sense of humor, who cares deeply about the safety and well-being of the crew of The Eclipse in a professional sense. He is a close friend and confidant of Captain Morgan and is often relied upon to help make difficult decisions.
In his free time, William enjoys spending time with his pet monkey, which he has trained to be a skilled sailor as well. Despite being a Dragon-Blooded, William does not have an overinflated sense of self-importance and instead values the contributions of each member of the crew. He maintains a sense of loyalty and duty to his lost heritage and the ideals of the Realm, even though he has chosen to live a life outside of the traditional paths of his house.
