Jeelix
Estoya is a tamed land. Its roads are no longer burdened by the bending of time and distance that so many other lands suffer. The island of Jeelix is where the thankless few responsible are said to reside. Expedition Juno disappeared into the mists of Jeelix. Their mission was to seek out evidence of a Labyrinth in hopes that it would assist in dealing with the many Universal Maladies that ail reality. They disappeared without a trace and Expedition Juno, the army of Wardens , were assumed dead. Some time after, the doors to The Jeelix Maze opened and the The Estoyan Pathfinders emerged.
The island and the pathfinders are the only history of note. Expedition Juno marks the beginning of the islands importance. Before that you have little more than legends and cases of disappearances. The Pathfinders are the only active faction on Jeelix as little to no resources are of use on the island save for wood and the cultivated plants the pathfinders tend to.
The pathfinders do sell their services as Wardens. They hunt, both game and beast, and source materials. They have also been known to escort travelers. The main form of income for a pathfinder is to do what their name suggests. They build the roads of Estoya.
The only people who reside on the Island of Jeelix are the Pathfinders who are varied in race, technically low class, and prone to all sorts of strange habits and are considered eccentric at best.
The Land
The island is covered in dense trees and mists. There are numerous patches of what only a pathfinder could consider "farmland" seeds of herbs, alchemical flora, fruits, and vegetables are haphazardly tossed around on the ground. and whatever grows, grows. Makeshift shacks can sometimes be seen but other than that the only structure that can be found is the top floor of the labyrinth. The Jeelix maze seems to be solid marble. With a double door at its entrance. The doors lack knockers or locks and if you weren't aware of your surroundings, they would almost blend in to the wall. The island and the pathfinders are the only history of note. The Bridge of Ways
The Maze requires no defense. The pathfinders nomadic life serves defense enough from the beasts that roam the island. The only way on or off the island is a rather strange bridge that can take half a day to cross for the average person due to the many winding paths and stairs. A more straightforward path would have shortened that trip to less than a couple hours but the pathfinders insisted on building it with such complexity.
