The Divine Hierarchy

The Major Celestials
Titans
The most powerful entity in any domain is its titan. A titan is a being who speaks for and ultimately is the domain it rules over. In the form of a titan, a domain gains sentience and can employ many avatars to further its growth. A titan can be large or small, but all are arguably equal in power.Gods
A god is any being who rules over a demiplane. A god has gifts that a titan does not. A god is not limited to one domain, can come and go at will, and has an active role in the physical world. Some need worship others do not. Some were born mortal, others have existed forever.saints and scions (demigods)
Saints and scions are the chosen of titans and gods and are given unique gifts and powers that elevate them to their standing. They act as retainers and loyal servants to their patrons. Some are chosen, some are found. Some are the children of gods.Servitors
Servitors are races or species that are created by higher powers to populate their domain and do their bidding. The Minor Celestials
Spirits
Spirits are an anomaly in a domain. They wander it seeking passage to the physical world to influence it in whatever it is that drives them. Every domain produces spirits and some demiplanes do as well.outsiders
The outsiders are new to our reality. They show up randomly and any one of them has the power to shift the hierarchy. These beings came from somewhere else. A different multiverse that either failed or succumbed to the void. Outsiders carve their own way into domains and often represent stranger elements of reality. The Void
While the void is almost unknown to mortals, it is the greatest fear of the divine. It is a domain in and if itself but at the same time is nothing of the sort. It is the negative space between universes and it seeks to consume, unyieldingly and without conscious thought. A select few have masters sone power of the void but its true power slips the grasp of even the gods. The void is a sign of entropic end and the gods now see it everywhere. The metaphysical world is host to many creatures like any realm. These beings, however, are quite different in that they tend to be much more powerful, technically immortal, and live by set rules and hierarchies that are followed to the letter. Celestial's include spirits, ghosts of the dead, divine beings like gods and their servitors, and the Titans themselves.
Celestial vs. Divine
The difference between a divine being and a celestial being is heavily debated. While all divine beings are celestials, not all celestials are divine.
In the time of Expedition Demeter, the distinction is usually made when addressing gods and titans. Servitors saints and scions are often regarded as divinities. What separates divinities from celestials can be chalked up to whether the entity has free will and just how powerful it is when compared to mortal beings.
With this definition, outsiders, as well as angels and demons, are divine as well.
The term celestial has come to mean any being that originates from the metaphysical planes.
Scholars do not use the term divine but rather divide celestials into major and minor categories.
Angelic and Demonic entities
Some minor celestials weren't created but instead developed and evolved in their respective domains. These beings, while technically spirits and servitors, have numerous elements that elevate them on the hierarchy. A good example of these kinds of beings would be angels and demons. Divided into two categories, these beings represent to many the moral contexts of whatever domain they inhabit. While every domain eventually develops angelic and demonic entities, angelic and demonic entities originally resided in the thousand heavens and thousand hells respectively. These two domains are divided into countless minor domains and are seeded throughout the metaphysical plane. All This being said, the idea of then being moral beings is a narrow-minded view. The terms angel and demon refer to a whole series of entities.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
