Azudei Pirloz - Eclipse

Azudei started her life as so many other women in Traazor: happy and ignorant that there was more to life. For Azudei, the famous Traazorite misogyny wasn’t harmful or even oppressive until she turned 15. At this age she and her friend were set upon by a group of young soldiers. Azudei was able to escape. Her best friend didn’t. They found her broken and battered body several days later. Azudei dutifully pointed the finger at the young men responsible, but nothing was done. On the contrary, she was told that she was the coward for running away, that her actions had killed her friend, and even that she and her friend had invited the sexual violence and death that had visited her friend.   This incident changes Azudei in several profound ways, but none so pronounced as a hatred that grew for the Traazorite society that tolerated such cruelty and even blamed the victim for it. The formerly peaceful and well mannered Azudei began to fight and viciously beat any male that disrespected or seemed threatening in any way toward any woman.   This behavior got Azudei and her family in trouble with local authorities and the young girl was forbidden by her parents to leave the house; for her safety and the safety of others. Not long after her social exile Azudei was visited by a woman who offered a different plan for her life. Using her anger and terrible grief the woman recruited Azudei into a group of female rebels whose goal was to change the culture of the Empire. They called themselves the Eclipse.   Azudei cared little for cultural change; she wanted only to visit retribution upon Traazorite soldiers and government officials. Her Rebel cell let her channel her rage into the death of Traazorites and the destruction of Imperial property, a role that Azudei relished and settled into with frightening ease.   In the beginning Azudei was referred to as Untamed, a rank of soldier within the rebellion that referred to a woman who had been horrifically wronged by the Empire and whose rage was channeled into combat. She didn’t stay at that rank for long, as the young Azudei sought ever more productive ways to kill Traazorites and avenge her friend.   Eventually a bow was put into her hand, and the rest, as they say, was history. Azudei mastered the bow more finely with every Traazorite she killed. Long range, dense foliage, nor swirling combat kept Azudei from her kill. Before long she was a skilled assassin for her new Eclipse masters, who put her to good use the Empire over.   Over time, Azudei became better at pushing her rage deep down inside her and thinking through her combats. As she did so she became more able to undertake stealth and assassination missions, which she relished as her kills became more important and had higher stakes.   Even as she learned to push her rage down most of the time it made those times it was unleashed all the more explosive and fantastic. Stories are told of a time when a group of her sisters was ambushed by a Traazorite unit guided by a Ravager.   Her sisters in trouble, Azudei defied orders to leave them to their fate and charged headlong into the ambush, killing soldiers with her Roondar until at last she confronted the Ravager. Long knife in hand, Azudei violently dispatched the spear wielding fanatic despite being covered in a net and then proceeded to kill the remaining soldiers with the Ravager’s spear. The few soldiers Azudei did not kill were ran down and silenced as they attempted to flee from the “mad woman with a spear.”   Whether this story is true or not it is immaterial, but it is indicative of the legend that grew up around Azudei and her many exploits during that time.   Becoming one of the most trusted assassins employed by the Eclipse, Azudei was eventually tasked with hunting down and killing a Traazorite Operative known only as the Shakazal. Her hunt for this man has led her to Tehradim, where she not only oversees weapon procurement and smuggling from the Northern Continent but relentlessly hunts the Operative that has taken the lives of so many of her sisters in Tehradim before her.   Azudei employs Freebands for her work around Tehradim and in the smuggling of supplies to her Beloved Sisterhood in Traazor. She rarely employs the same group twice, for their safety and hers, and many times the Sisters she uses are one of many pieces in one of Azudei’s plans to draw out and destroy the Shakazal.
