Dark Vengeance Scenario 2 - Someone Always Talks

The looting went on for days. The monuments in the hills above Altanos, known in the academic community as the Windcaller Warstones, were thoroughly pilfered by the Freebands that made it into the mountains.   While those freebands were trying to collect gear that might help them in their warranted quest to stop the Black Knight, it struck again, killing two members of a freeband that allegedly fled when bandits struck an ill-fated convoy.   Upon hearing the news in Altanos, the freebands searched for survivors who had witnessed the Black Knight’s most recent attack. Perhaps if a survivor could be found, they might shed some light on who or what this Black Knight is and how it can be stopped.   Many of the Survivors fled to Altanos. After a few ales, they hit the taverns in Altanos and could not be quiet about what they had seen the Black Knight do. Some lucky freebands, fresh from looting the mountain tombs, have found these survivors and contracted their help. With their first real clue that may unravel this mystery and stop the Black Knight, they are escorting their witnesses back across the plains to the scene of the attack.   But there are only so many witnesses and too many freebands. To stay ahead of the game, it’s necessary to “liberate” one of these witnesses and talk to them before your rival freebands do. For those lucky enough to intercept one of these witnesses and hire their services, defending them and keeping them under your protection is imperative.   Scenario 2: Rescue the Prisoner
