Dornzah Thedryhn is one of the most powerful Kuzaarik in Zihlsah, though you would never know it. Rising like the sun through the ranks of the Merchant Union, Dornzah has only been in his post for a season. For all intents and purposes he is still consolidating his power after a very fast rise which culminated with being selected to oversee the Merchant Union’s lucrative operation in the crossroads town of Zihlsah.
Though Dornzah is the leader of the Merchant Union very few know anything about him. He was raised in Klyrh by his maternal grandparents after both of his parents were killed in an Urdaggar raid.
His family were small merchants in Klyrh and Dornzah initially followed in those steps. As he grew older he became more and more obsessed with the security of the local merchants and the convoys coming and going through Klyrh on their way to Vinyabah Gorhad.
As soon as he could Dornzah became a constable with the Merchant Union and by securing the safety of the local merchants quickly rose through the ranks to become a Market Warden.
It was as a Market Warden that Dornzah really began to shine and attracted the attention of his superiors in the Merchant Union. Dornzah’s attention to security and detail began to pay dividends as less and less of the merchant convoys going to and from Klyrh were lost to banditry and other attacks.
As Dornzah’s star rose his superiors in the Merchant Union began to consider him for a job that the Merchant Union had been waiting for the right person to unleash: The exploration and eventual reopening of the tunnel between Zihlsah and Vinyabah Gohrahd.
Dornzah was not difficult to convert to their side of this quest; An underground tunnel connecting the town of Zihlsah with the heart of the Kuzaarik people would certainly protect the trade caravans going between the two cities and give complete control of security and trade to the Merchant Union.
Dornzah has spent almost his entire first year in Zihlsah collecting lore and information on what is now called “The Deep Dark,” the ancient tunnel that fell out of use so long ago. Now, with his information gathered, he prepares for the next stage of the operation: active exploration and mapping. Dornzah is determined to fulfill his task and open this trade route. He will stop at nothing to get this done.
