Rilaysa Kirad is a member of the Lamanka (ch. "shining people"), the upper class of Koronnan society. Koronna does not have a hereditary nobility, but the wealthy, powerful and ambitious sort themselves out into strata nonetheless. Rilaysa's family made their fortune in shipping, and her father owns the busiest shipping concern operating out of Abashai's docks. He looks to Rilaysa to operate the family's landward concerns, which she does superbly. So superbly, in fact, that she finds herself with plenty of time to intrigue and indulge her curiosity with respect to myth and legend.
Rilaysa is meticulous and exacting in every aspect of her life. She never meets with anyone without being thoroughly prepared and personally researches every detail of her own tasks and those she sets for others. Adversaries have tried to gain an edge by throwing problems at her in rapid succession, aiming to disrupt her ability to plan everything out before acting. For the most part, however, her loyal household staff are trained and equipped to mitigate such tactics.
She is never seen other than impeccably dressed. She has a pathological hatred of being dirty or disheveled. She does not undertake any action that might put her in the public eye in any state other than one of perfection. She is not known to have any children, nor lovers of any gender - though rumors and speculation of all sorts attempt to fill the gaps. Only her inner circle might know for sure.
Rilaysa is a well-favored patron of freeblades in her part of the world. She pays handsomely and her skills at planning help reduce risks. Her tasks never include vengeance or battle, only complex quests for objects or information.
