The Assembly of Stone - Nehvodim

To the outside world, the Assembly of Stone is simply a group of zealots who worship Baravael, the Dragon of Earth. Most see them as nothing more than deranged cultists. This is an easy way to categorize them, but it is not a complete picture of who they are and what they seek.    At its core, the Assembly of Stone is a philosophical movement that coalesced around its founder Doraz Kyntai. Doraz is an academic and philosopher who has wondered about southern Isarshael gathering knowledge from every institution he can find.    Kyntai’s philosophy is unusual, and in many places, he has been laughed out of the Academy that he has come to learn from. This hasn’t stopped him, however. Throughout the journey, Kyntai has attracted a large group of followers.    Kyntai’s philosophy centers around stone and its centrality to Faelon’s creation. According to him, rock is the foundational element of creation. Without it, everything else is detached and fluid. In Kyntai’s cosmology, rock is the anchor of reality.    Rock is the foundation of creation, and also it's undoing. With time even rock is made into dust. It is carried away on the winds and waters of the world, blown into the cosmic breeze where it will coalesce again given time. But it is not destroyed, only changed.    In Tehradim, Kyntai met Chaler Krel. Krel is an Earth caster and demonologist. Krel convinced Kyntai that not only is his philosophy correct, but that it aligns perfectly with what Krel had learned about Baravael, the Dragon of Earth, through his unconventional studies.   The two became fast friends and eventually lovers. The gathering of like-minded philosophers that had congregated around Kyntai began to grow until he had a large following. Krel convinced Kyntai that the answers to their questions could be answered in Nehvodim.    In Nehvodim, Krel argued, the library of Hamal Darzin would contain even more answers about the true nature of Faelon and how they were embodied in Baravael.    Their early attempts to enter the Nehvodim were thwarted by the spirits and demons that roamed the city, but they didn’t give up. Their following of philosophers began arming and training, wary of the dangers of the Dathglar and aware that they may have to fight their way into the city to gain the knowledge they seek. The Assembly of Stone has built a large encampment on the south edge of the Dathglar, waiting for a sign that they can enter Nehvodim.
Patron Rule:   The Way of Stone Tattoos   One hero in your freeband has been imbued with magical tattoos that allow them to pass through stone as though it were air.     They treat non-magical terrain features made of stone as easier terrain.   Impassable becomes very rough, very rough becomes rough, rough becomes easy.  This ability only affects movement and not line of site.  They may not end their move in impassable terrain.
