Torvoral Privallon - Haradelan
From the stony tower of Adev Muna Dal, Wolf Den Keep, Torvoral Privallon oversees lands on the Northern slopes of the Bar Nol. These lands bear much bounty for Privallon, from lumber and iron on the slopes of the Bar Nol to farming and animal husbandry in its valleys. Though not rich by any means, the people of Privallon’s holdings enjoy plenty and what comforts life can provide.
To the south lies the contested and militarized border with Thormenal and Koronna. Privallon’s militia patrols help keep the Haradelan side of the border stable, but the ever changing Koronnan/Thormenalan border south of the mountains keeps the military tension between the three countries high.
In 1005 The Warden of Erladan sent troops to the border after a particularly heated round of diplomacy with Thormenal failed to bring agreement about the border. Before Mundar III could intervene, the Warden ordered his troops to attack a Thormenalan mercenary army in the alpine country around Bar Vonpairga.
Despite numerical superiority the Warden’s troops were soundly defeated and pursued over the old border. Adev Muna Dal served as a rallying point for the defeated Haradelans, but even an infusion of militia from Privallon’s governance was not enough to stem the tide of the victorious Thormenalans.
Called the Treaty of Shame by those on the Haradelan side, the peace that was settled upon between Mundar III and the newly elected Archon Krotus of Ideralis pushed the border north by several miles, swallowing Privallon’s ancestral lands and his beloved Adev Muna Dal.
Disgraced and dispossessed, Torvoral Privallon was without hope or title until he was approached by King Mundar. Mundar admitted his powerlessness in the matter and offered his condolences for the loss of Torvoral’s rightful home.
Mundar extended a peace offering in the form of retention of his ancestral rank of Thael. He also offered the dispossessed Torvoral a job serving the King. Torvoral was well pleased with the offer and pledged his direct service to King Mundar. Privately he vowed to win back his lands in any way he could. Whatever it cost him, he swore he would once again live in Adev Muna Dal.
Torvoral went where the King directed him, usually followed by a hand picked group of warriors. Torvoral was himself a High Quester of Valar and preferred the company of his fellow knights. Toroval’s company of Valar knights and their retainers became known as Adevan Torvoral, Torvoral’s Wolves. His soldiers often referred to him as Thael Adev, or Lord Wolf.
Torvoral executes the orders of the King with enthusiasm, but he always has one ear inclined south towards Erladan and the occupied Adev Muna Dal, hoping for some word that his ancestral holdings are once again in Haradel where they belong.
Through the years Thael Adev has pursued many whispered rumors about the dealings of The Warden of Erdalan during the fateful time around the battle of Bar Vonpairga, but all lead to the same place: nowhere. Still, Torvoral continues onward, in what he considers his most sacred quest: The reclamation of Adev Muna Dal and the reestablishing of his line there.
