Devil's Lichen
Named for its orange-red coloration, Devil's Lichen is best known for its symbiotic relationship with the prized Mage's Mold fungus. It is soft and comforting to the touch, but poisonous if ingested.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Devil's Lichen is typically found on trees in moderate to tropical climates. It prefers partial sunlight so while common to wooded areas it is very rare in deep woods.
Additional Information
Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
The Mage's Mold fungus can only grow naturally when in a symbiotic relationship with Devil's Lichen. Devil's Lichen does not require the fungus for its own growth although it does grow faster and more robust when the fungus is present.
I love the idea of something being 'soft and comforting to the touch' but poisonous to eat. I would love a poisonous bed. :D
