Prophets of the Goddesses are devout followers of the Three Songs who have acquired dementia. The singing faithful believe that as a Prophet loses their own memories they gain the ability to channel the Goddesses and sing their Songs, leading the faithful towards their own songs.
Dementia
Condition | Dec 29, 2019

Dementia is a common cognitive disorder in the elderly.

Duties

The Prophets are made available to the singing faithful by appointment, where the Caretakers will match up each petitioner to a Prophet favored by the Goddess most suited to hear the petition. During the Festival of Flowers' three days of celebration the Prophets are available to the faithful without any appointments, resulting in petitioners from all across Rol'na converge on the House of Flowers for group sessions with the Prophets to seek guidance for the coming year.   Family members are permitted full access to their Prophet relatives, day or night, provided the visit does not cause stress to the Prophet or interfere with the Prophet's other duties.

Benefits

Prophets are permanently relocated to the House of Flowers, the most blessed temple of the Goddesses, where they receive their own private room for personal family visits. They are free to join the company of any of the residents of the temple while the Caretakers see to all their needs and comforts.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

To serve as a Prophet is a lifetime commitment to guiding the singing faithful. As dementia is an incurable cognitive disorder, Prophets serve for the remainder of their lives in ordinary circumstances.

Having seen this in your story, I still marvel at how it works out so beautifully to care for those who will need it. <3   "Family members are permitted full access to their Prophet relatives, day or night, provided the visit does not cause stress to the Prophet or interfere with the Prophet's other duties." - And I love this aspect too!

I love the Rol'nara. They have such a beautiful communal spirit to their lives, and are particularly welcoming to the outcasts of other societies.   I wish I lived there! <3
