Forest of Stars
A forest of enormous, twisting trees that seem to make tunnels over paths. In the summer, the foliage is so dense that hardly any light reaches the ground. The air is filled, though, with hundreds of Starflys the give off enough light to see by. In the winter and autumn, the starflies take the form of chrysalises that gleam like lightbulbs all throughout the canopy. Many who have passed through believe the forest is magical, and the impression that stars have come down from the skies to light the way supports that.
Geography
The forest is located on the eastern coast of the isthmus connecting Kaabara and Cuyania. It is bordered to the west by the small tongue of the Shiver Mountains that runs along the isthmus and to the east by the coast. It's about a hundred miles from north to south, and half that wide. A great number of rivers flower from the mountains to the coast- most notable the Meena, Lä, and Vailva rivers. The elevation drops quickly coming down from the mountains. The courses of the rivers are greatly varied as they meander through a swamp. On the coast, where the Meena and Vailva rivers comer together, is a broad delta of marshy ground.
