Lord Seluku Manitushu
At the end of The Second Reckoning, Seluku's ancestor led one of the three factions in the Tanishian Civil War. His ancestor was unsuccessful, but his line has never forgotten how close they were to the throne.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Nothing drives Seluku more than the dream of the throne. The corruption among the Executors of the Will is well known among the higher tier of nobles, but Seluku is one of the few who sees it as a real problem. He is convinced that the reason the king has so little power is that ever since the civil war, the proper heir of Nebay has not been in power and is thus unable to properly communicate with the Oracle. Seluku dreams of reforming the kingdom with the proper heir - himself - and to do away with the Oracle system which is ripe for corruption. Besides, he doesn't want to wait until he's dead to achieve ultimate power.

Religious Views
Seluku does not have strong religious views. He doesn't put much stock in the gods and thinks the ornate temples and offerings are a waste of good money. While considering himself the rightful heir of Tanish, he sees this as being the heir of Nebay, not the god Entu that Nebay claimed to be descended from. He has very little reverence for dead kings and prefers to focus on the here and now.

Extremely charismatic. He is excellent as listening to people and meeting their eyes in such a way they feel he is truly paying attention and caring about their words.
Wealth & Financial state
He is from one of the wealthiest families in Tanish. He owns a large villa in Zedda and a smaller home in Tirasha. Though he inherited most of his wealth, he has personally increased it by investing in a copper mine in the mountains near Zedda. He spends his money on lavish parties to further network with Tanishian nobility, and in secret spends it funding The Society.
