Warforged

Warforged first appeared on Foralli about 50 years ago. Created by the gnomish artificer Rimple Knucklestamp on Ibora, warforged were designed to be a perfect and quickly replicable soldier. While warforged were originally thought to be nothing more than mindless automatons, many have undergone what they call the Awakening, and what their cousin species, the autognomes, call the Eureka. Those that have experienced the Awakening find themselves with new sentience, and may have a wide array of thoughts regarding their time before their Awakening, and on those who have yet to experience it. Awoken warforged often speak among each other of a mysterious dream that seems to be common across all members of the species of a winged, goat-legged figure claiming it is the god responsible for their spark of life. Each warforged has their own interpretation of this dream, ranging from religious devotion to skeptical dismissal.
Warforged are formed from a blend of organic and inorganic materials. Root-like cords infused with alchemical fluids serve as their muscles, wrapped around a framework of steel, darkwood, or stone. Armored plates form a protective outer shell and reinforce joints. Warforged share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal eyes embedded beneath a reinforced brow ridge. Beyond these common elements of warforged design, the precise materials and build of a warforged vary based on the purpose for which it was designed.
Despite being manufactured, warforged are living humanoids. Healing magic and even medical attention provide the same benefits to warforged that they do to other humanoids.
