The Shattered Isles were once a vibrant collection of islands and small continents. Since the birth of The Maelstrom, the balance has been disrupted. Vast dark clouds create permanent darkness for the inner isles. The pull of the supernatural storm has changed the map over the last 50 years as its force has even begun to affect the isles furthest from it.
