Caucsion

They say the Dragons came from the north. They headed the wooden boats, propelled by square and triangle wings, skimming the ocean surface with multitudes of legs. They say the pale men, the tall, burly men with long beard and feathers and glass in their braids are their sons, they lived and fought for and against their forefathers for their place. They say the pale women, the square, curvy women with nimble fingers and quick words and string in their weaves are their daughters, they birthed and cared and taught how to fight in their ice cold world. They say the people who are not quite one or the other, but who fight and wrestle and speak all the same are their children as well, living and breathing and bleeding for their own. They say the Dragons came form the north, long, long ago, when dragons still reigned.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Men are commonly attributed with some kind of facial hair, two braded beard are the most popular
Women are preferred muscular, generally tested by a common game called Yalskul, or Carry Off

Courtship Ideals

*Upon many occasions (If it is a tradional family) the male must offer four goat skins and a Malkk braid to the female's family. If the female accepts, she then creates a Unicc braid to gift to the male's family. If they are impressed by the women's work, then they can court. A more common courting process is meeting at Swakk gatherings, dancing, and flirting.
The 'apple throw' is another common way of formally proposing. One party throws an apple at the other, the color dictating how soon they wish to marry (Green - spring time, Red - summer, Purple - winter, Yellow - fall, Orange - by the next moon). If the second party agrees, then they throw it back with a bite in it. Each party continues throwing and biting until its just the core.

*Works similarly for same-sex partners, one just has to initiate the whole thing.

Relationship Ideals

Sexual relationships of any kind are seen as important parts of human development, so they're pretty good with any kind. Consent is big, though, if you break it its a death sentence for the offending party. Same-sex relationships are seen as growing relationships, they teach you how to treat a partner, but marrying the same sex is pretty rare, and in some regions taboo if its not for religious purposes.
-Yalskul, or Carry Off - Game played by children and young adults. The players will pick a Yal, or carrier, and everyone else tries to find the heaviest object they can. The Yal then carries it up to 100 er (~97 meters) or as far as they can. The contest is to see who can carry to object faster, further, or many times, depending on the decided perimeters.

-Swakk gatherings - Gatherings at the four quarters of the moon (Rising, Full, Falling, and Empty Moons) to celebrate births, marriages, or other occasions.
