Zelek, God of the Dead

The Experimenter, Ruin, The Pale Man

While The Hanged Man may be the God of Death, the very process of the ending of life, Zelek is god to those who have passed from this world. Known as a stony and uninterested deity Zelek's purview is the Dead in all forms. He is associated with corpses, decay, ruination, necromancy and necrothurgy. His symbol is a set of Rusted Sheers, used in a variety of rituals as a method of cutting from the dead what is needed or cutting the dead from the living.   He views the dead in a dispassionate sense as tools. Seeing no reason not to use them for whatever purpose they are required. Equally he sees no reason to vilify the undead, indeed he believes that those who can escape death into unlife are interesting themselves. He was once a mage, man ages ago, one who wished to probe the boundaries between life and death. He experimented with the dead and eventually found a way to bypass death and ascend. He has never truly died, nor has he truly been alive since departing the mortal world, instead he exists in a realm of his own creation or possibly discovery, that intersects ours and the realms of the dead.
