Aasimar
Far less common than their devilish cousins, but somewhat similar in origin, Aasimar children are not born in the traditional sense. In fact they are born perfectly human for all anyone can see. It's only later in life that their angelic origins manifest.
Like Tieflings, no known Aasimar existed prior to The Sundering, after which they seemed to have emerged overnight.
Though not born with any obvious traits distinguishing their heritage, they all do have a few things in common. Every Aasimar's mother dies in childbirth. No attempt ever made has managed to save them. Further, their fathers are either (typically) conspicuously absent, or are driven (in a sort of "cloud of miasma") to leave shortly after the birth of their child. The vast majority when asked claim to have no memory or knowledge of their own child. A good many also forget the identity of the mother of their Aasimar child as well.
Whatever the case, the manifestation occurs at one of two points in an Aasimar's life, seemingly at random. About half the Aasimar currently alive revealed their true nature at puberty, with the other half having an even more bizarre origin.
These Aasimar live their entire lives, fully human for all intents and purposes, and then die human. Then within several days a child emerges, full of luminescent energy, from the crypt or grave of the fallen human. These children are practically newborn, with just the ability to crawl from the coffins of their birth. Aasimar are all marked with their patron deity's sigil branded in the middle of their foreheads, making it difficult to disguise their true nature.
