Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Fairly thin, a little bit on the muscular side, but it isn't really defined enough for it to be visible. She's very healthy, healing notably faster than a regular person.

Body Features

She's fairly average all around, more block shaped than anything. She's not really tan or pale, just very in the middle on a lot of things.

Facial Features

Her face is on the rounder side of things, with a slightly sharper chin. Her eyebrows are on the thicker side, and freckles cover her cheeks and nose.

Identifying Characteristics

Will often have scars on her arms, though because of her faster healing, they fade quicker. They're usually covered by bandages anyway.

Physical quirks

Right handed, faster healing, and very tough bones. If you tried to stab her in the chest, you wouldn't be able to get through her ribs. She also is ridiculously pain tolerant.

Wears a purple and black kimono-esque blouse and tight fitting shorts that reach just above her knees. She'll often wear bandages on her arms, stopping right before her elbows, and open-toed tabi shoes.

She doesn't really need it, but she will sometimes keep a knife on her, mostly just for utility.

Personal history

Vercana spent the first three or so years of her life in a small town near the coast of Wellwyn. She lived with her mom, and her dad was nowhere in the picture, having left while Vercana's mom was pregnant. She didn’t live in Wellwyn for very long, however, as her mom moved to a somewhat small city in Daenia, and got a job teaching at the same school Verci was going to attend. Her mom treated her very well, despite not having much in terms of money. She did her best to keep Vercana happy, and did a pretty good job at it too. For her ninth birthday, her mom got her a dopey looking tuxedo cat plushie that she had been wanting for a few months. Vercana promptly named him Snurgle, and refused to go anywhere without him. Unfortunately, later that year, there was an incident where an older student “accidentally” started a fire, which Vercana’s mom died in.

Vercana barely got the opportunity to gather her stuff before being sent off to an orphanage in a different town. All she had was Snurgle, and some clothes. She spent a majority of her time locked in her room, either crying or sleeping. She didn't eat much at all, and ended up losing a good amount of weight because of it. Over time, she got slightly better, but still spent most of her time isolating herself. A couple years later, the caretaker asked if she could maybe help with the smaller kids, or just more sensitive kids. Vercana was initially against the idea, but she soon realized it might help distract herself from everything else.

It wasn’t long before she found out loved working with small children, and had a bit of a knack for helping out more sensitive kids. When Vercana was 13, a ten year old girl named Lavie came along. Vercana initially didn’t want to bother her, as she seemed to have enough on her plate, but after a few months, she realized she really should try to help. Lavie was apprehensive at first, but soon warmed up to Vercana and refused to leave her side. She ended up trying to take on a big sister role to Lavie, and while she thinks she could have done a better job, Lavie couldn’t have asked for better.

Eventually, though, Vercana turned 18, and had to leave. She felt bad for leaving Lavie, but Lavie assured her she'd be alright, and she'll keep in touch. Verci left, having little to no clue what she'll do. She decided to put her good memory to good use, and gather as much information as she can, and sell it. Money was hard, clients were rare, and she often found herself choosing between food and a place to stay for the night, but she managed. Her most consistent customers were a pair of thief sisters, the younger of which she ended up developing a bit of a crush on. She also still has Snurgle.

She helped Lavie out of a lot of bad places, and spent a few years basically being a mini mom to a bunch of 3-7 year olds.

Failures & Embarrassments

There are a couple instances where she feels like she didn't do enough to help, definitely partially blamed herself for her mom's death for a little bit. She reasonably knows it wasn't her fault, but a nine year old who couldn't really process what happened definitely felt like she could've done something.

She isn't particularly sure what she's doing, but she knows she'd like to at some point be financially stable enough to not have to hop place to place.

She's very good with kids, and pretty alright at consoling people. She has a great memory, and is good at gathering information. She can cook enough to live, but isn't particularly good. She doesn't particularly understand most technology but knows enough to get by.

Likes & Dislikes

She has a massive soft spot for kids, and of course, loves her girlfriend immensely. She cares deeply for her childhood best friend, Lavie, and is also a fan of cats in general. On the other hand, she really hates Suzuki, and brats drive her nuts.

For the most part, she's very patient with other people, and fairly empathetic, often offering to help others through whatever they're dealing with. She'll try even if it might be a little too much for her.

She can sometimes be short tempered, usually when dealing with things she hates. She doesn't know how to deal with her own emotions very well, especially grief. She has an extreme fear of loss, and can't handle it very well when someone/thing dies. She cares a lot about the people she's close to, and while that isn't necessarily a bad thing, she can be very overbearing and a little too protective.
