Peter Dornstrike

Born after the Choson War as son to Joseph Dornstrike and Margareth von Davide, Peter lived a short but full life. At age 46, he passed away due to an unknown disease. However, his name still echoes through the world as people fondly remember the jolly bard who travelled all over the world to bring people music and joy.   Ask anyone from the Dornstrike family what kind of a person Peter was, and you'll always get the same answer.
What kind of a person Peter was? A nutjob with an undying love for music and instruments. He was the sweetest boy of us five siblings. Later in life, he used the sweetness to spread his love around. Ehm, literally and figuratively.
— Marisha Dornstrike
One thing was certain, Peter enjoyed helping people of all walks of life whether through song or physical labour. People have told him their deepest secrets which he took to his grave. You just knew he would never spill your beans. However, you could never trust him with grocery shopping.
The door opens and closes as Peter steps inside his brother's new house.
"Joooohoooosh, I'm hooooooome!" He bellows singysongy at the top of his lungs.
Almost tumbling down the stairs, Josh runs down to greet his older brother.
"Awesome, did you find every~ WHAT HAVE YOU BOUGHT?!" He points at what looked like an instrument in Peters hand. "Where are the groceries? How much did that cost? What..."
"Josh, relax!" Peter smiled. "I was at the market, and they had this awesome string thingy, man! I had a little play and it just sounds so cool! I couldn't just leave it behind, I had to have it, you know me."
"Yes! Yes I do! I should've known better than to trust you with simple grocery shopping." Josh paces through the living room.
"Hey, bro bro," Peter puts his arm around his brother. "You know me, I can fix this. Let me get out on the streets and I have money back for you in no time. And with groceries too!"
"Fine, but be back before sunset, otherwise I'll get sick with worry," Josh says as he gives his brother a big hug.

Grocery shopping is very difficult yes :D

Jan 25, 2022 14:09

Aye, especially when you get easily distracted by instruments :3 xD

"However, you could never trust him with grocery shopping." I am in this article and I do not like it :p Already fun read, give me a ping when you are fully done ^^

I mean.. can't we all be trusted with grocery shopping? :P I definitely plan to give this guy a proper rework and flesh him out even further. When it's done, I'll give you a heads up! <3

Short article, but a good one! (I can't count the number of times I go grocery shopping, only to come home, wondering how I bought something completely unrelated and half the things on my list I forgot to pick up!)

Mar 1, 2022 09:53

Thank you! ^^ And, I know right?! I can never keep solely to my grocery list, it's just impossible!

Jan 25, 2022 18:34

Yey yes, leave it to me. Awr the brothers are too cute. I mean, distracted by a string thingy is nearly the same thing as getting distracted by very yummy ingedrients. Or a big fluffy cat you can bring back home. :P   Keep it up, I want to read more :D

Hehehe, thank you <3 They are a cute pair indeed and often up to no good too!   Also, I totally agree with the getting distracted by very yummy ingredients and cats. Gotta get the yummy stuff and always need to pet the cat. x3

Who would get distracted by instruments that easily? Definitely not me..... Never!   That's a fun little story you've added there. I like it!

You?! Distracted by instruments?! Naaaaaah. But if I throw monitors and other audio equipment in the mix, you cannot resist! :P   Glad you like it! ^^

Cute! I'd love to see it when it's more fleshed out, but that's funny. :)

The typical problem of going to buy something and ending up buying other stuff, I understand him. I loved the scene you wrote about when he came back with an instrument :D

I'm telling you, it's a curse! xD   Glad you liked the scene and story! <3

"Bringing music to the dead" lol Seem like a fun guy :p Does he have a favourite type of songs? Any other stupid thing he did during his travelling and that he is known for?

To see what I am up to: my Summer Camp 2024.

Everyone needs music, whether you're still alive, down in the grave, or wandering the realm of eternal slumber. And who better to deliver than this guy? x3   Peter doesn't have a specific type of song he favourites most. Although, there are a few very close to his heart, so you could consider those his favourites.   And yes, he did many a stupid thing in his life. Some more stories I should expand on sometime soon... ish. xD

Good job on another fun article Sh4d0wPh03n1x. Nice to see that ADD/Impulse buys are alive and well not just in the real world. I could also see him going "Well there was this street performer, see, and his lute was just soooooooo out of tune, so I helped him out for a bit. Can you believe he didnt even know the 12th verse of _______ (song with only 5 accepted verses)"

Check out some of my summer camp articles, like the dangerous flying jackalope or dragon wasps. Or, for something more light-hearted, there is the whimsical language Gobbledygook and Jaden's interesting job as a guano polisher.

Thank you! <3   Oh yes, that little quote would perfectly fit him indeed. xD

The Dornstrikes are a fun bunch. :P I see Peter has an engaging personality, as well. I wonder if that was the only thing you could not trust him with? How well does he manage time, e.g., arriving on time or remembering one's birthday?   Are there more stories? I want to know more about him. And with him spreading his love around, I'm sure there would be more characters involved?

They certainly are ^^   While he may not act trustworthy on the surface, deep down he'd be the one to keep your deepest secrets and to stand with you through difficult times. As for his time management, of course he'll be fashionably late to all parties and he likes to joke that he's "forgotten" when your birthday is exactly. However, he always has a little booklet with him scribbled with notes about the people he cares.   There are tons more stories, but we don't really know how many kids he has. :P

'Later in life, he used the sweetness to spread his love around. Ehm, literally and figuratively.' Hahaha.   He sounds like a fun character. I like the note about grocery shopping too. I also get distracted by not-grocery things. :D
