Tridae

Hunting Bird Folk

Floating cities require the strongest wings, tracking requires the sharpest eyes, and a successful hunt requires the sharpest talons or weapons. When one thinks of the Avians, rarely does one picture the long legs of the Struthio or the waterproof feathers of the Anseri. It is the commanding presence of the Tridae, the predator birds, that everyone thinks of, some of the strongest of the Animal Kingdom.   The Tridae are the strongest and most well-known of the Avians. Their wings and strengths in the air and as Mapmakers demand respect which they frequently receive. These people love the sky and the freedom it brings, the thrill of tracking, and the feeling of being on top of the world. When one thinks of the Crumbling Wall and its leaders, it is the Tridae that come to the forefront.

Basic Information

Anatomy

All Avians share anatomical traits with Humans with some major differences. Avians have feathers and wings that allow them to fly as well as sharp beaks and talons that allow them to hunt or gather food.   The Tridae vary slightly from other Avians in that they often have the sharpest beaks and talons and are considered the strongest fliers of the Avians. They also have a few heightened sensory capabilities, similar to the Strigea.   Common Colorations
Tridae vary widely in color, often having several shades and colors of feathers at once. Their colorations often match those of raptors in the world, including Hawks, Eagles, and other predator birds.

Additional Information

Social Structure

While most Avians tend to be solitary people, and the Tridae are no different, they are considered to be the leaders of the Avians and are therefore considered the caretakers of the Crumbling Wall. This means that the Tridae are frequently gathered, even if they prefer to live a bit separately from their own people.   The Tridaen culture is heavily focused on hunting and tracking as their senses enhance these activities greatly. They are commonly the Mapmakers of the Avians, using their strong wings and unrivaled vision to map great distances from the air.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Tridae have similar heightened sensory capabilities to the Strigea, including increased vision at great heights and increased hearing. This allows them to hunt and track, even while flying at great heights.
