Crowded streets echo with voices as the market district opens up with busy stalls and charismatic sellers. As colored scales pass by, whispers can be heard but they lack the disdain she knows that her brethren often hear. The sunshine color of her scales gains her respect and reverence, instead of the questioning reluctance that her friend of blue scales hears. She wishes that someday the fear of ancestry they did not wish for would disappear in the face of reality, the service that her kin share with their homelands, but that day is not today. As she continues walking, the comments and compliments slipped by her, bouncing off her scales as if nothing ever happened.
Yellow Dragonkin are the descendants of one of the Elder Races and the nearly mythical Yellow Dragon. Strong, charismatic, and above all, willing to serve, these people are often welcomed with open arms into various societies, but not due to the traits they bring. Many races see Yellow Dragonkin as divine blessings or good omens, something to keep their cities and villages safe. Simply put, these Dragonkin make their homes where they are welcome, but they often wish they were not welcome for such simple reasons.
Above all else, these people value equal respect for all people. Many Yellow Dragonkin have made it their life purpose to gain equal treatment and respect for all Dragonkin, no matter their ancestors and color of scales. Amongst the Elder Races, this purpose has been mostly fulfilled, but others believe that it is the ego of Chromatic Dragons driving the Yellow Dragonkin to lie for the furthering of those that would otherwise wreak havoc.

Anatomy

Yellow Dragonkin share some specific traits with their Draconic ancestors that prove their ties to the Yellow Dragons. Their facial features are sharp, with a jawline that comes to a sharp point, similar to a beard. A ribbed crest on the head that flows into larger whisker-like pieces, multiple sets of horns, and large muscular bodies are also common in Yellow Dragonkin.
All Dragonkin inherit sharp claws, extremely strong and protective scales, as well as a breath weapon that they can use. Some of these traits are affected by the color of the Dragonkin as the many varieties of Dragons also vary greatly in their abilities. Yellow Dragonkin have a resistance to dark magic while their breath weapon allows them to utilize and manipulate dark powers of various types.

While their coloration is in their name, Yellow Dragonkin can still come in a variety of shades of yellow, matching the shades found in the scales of Yellow Dragons. Their scales can range from light yellow to very bright sunshine yellow. The color of their eyes has a much smaller range, often only being yellow, brown, red, green, grey, or purple.

Yellow Dragonkin, while social people, are often considered a mythical being that receives special treatment because of the color of their scales. Because sightings of Yellow Dragons are so rare, most people do not believe they exist or that these creatures are nothing more than myths created long ago. Having a Yellow Dragonkin enter one's society is considered a divine blessing by some and these people are considered good omens that bring protection to some societies.
This treatment allows Yellow Dragonkin to become part of various societies where they often become Paladins or fall into other professions that deal with dispelling dark magic due to their natural resistance to that type of magic. Yellow Dragonkin can walk among other races without the stigma of their ancestry stopping them, a luxury that not all Chromatic Dragonkin have. Without this stigma, these people have often chosen to mingle with other races instead of creating villages of their own.
