Aesir & Vanir
Known in ages past for their ferocity and cleanliness, the Aesir & Vanir are two separate ethnicities, who came to coexist in the Realm known as Ásgard. Deities of the Scandinavian and Northmen, the Aesir & Vanir carry an epic collection of sagas back to the dawn of the Ginnungagap itself.
Rambunctious and mighty, the Aesir and their equals the Vanir were never the most glorified of deities, but are some of the most enduring stories being told.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The Scandinavian languages and their dialects stem from a root of Old Norse still spoken in Ásgard. While the language indeed holds roots with Proto-Germanic, there's something to the lilt of the Scandinavians which herald a pristine dialectical dominion.
Common Dress code
If there's one thing I've absorbed about the Aesir & Vanir it's cleanliness. The Scandis are still perpetually obsessed with owning combs, brushing out their hair and beards, maintaining tattoos, and dressing smartly whether in apron dress gilded with brooches and jewels, or denim overalls and a plaid shirt patched up multiple times for one more season before the harvest.
Foods & Cuisine
The roast meats are, I'm told, delicious, as is the bread. While I don't eat (I'm a book), the feast meals of the Aesir & Vanir are apparently without reproach. Their daily food is much simpler farmer's fare. Pottage with broad beans and vegetables, creamed kale, the odd side of bacon.
While legends and saga-songs are still sung around fires of the feasting, the everyday reality of Scandinavian life appears for all intents, to be porridge and brown cheese.

Naming Traditions
The consensus among the Aesir & Vanir is to name a child based on their parentage. Generally the name of the father with -son or -dottir tacked on as a suffix. This nomenclature is still active in the Midgard country of Iceland.Historical Figures
