8. Feet/Foot
Caleb's feet trudged on virgin snow, stable in compression. His companion slid on the trod path, boot grips on slick ice.
"Here."
"Snow will get in my boot"
"Better boot than your ass. This isn't the desert."
"Two working eyes, unlike Horus."
"Trust me."
9. Shovel
The *shovel laid untouched beside the driveway, snow piled on concrete to the lane. Karisma shrieked, hopping along the frozen garden,
"Waugh! Dad!"
"C'mere y'lil mitten!" Caleb grabbed her and tossed the girl into the snow with a wumph.
"Haha! Let's make snow Mikas!"
10. Move
"*Move!" Caleb passed the folk with the bundle of coats in his arms. Voices cawed - confused crows - patch ice and treads on shoes, ought to salt the road like Romans in retreat. Caleb sat Kari on the pub stool & set her scarf to a bloody nose.
"I'm a Scandisgrace!"
