Livith's worm

Named after the zoologist Albert Livith, the livith's worm is an ancient worm that occupies the backs of many of the stranger beasts that wander the lands of Karenth. They are thought to be destructive to the creatures they inhabit, but in actuality, live off the energy syphoned from some of the magical creatures of the world. They have only been found on some of the strange magical beasts, and will die shortly after being removed from their hosts.
