Nethen Scope

The Nethen language is complex and changed greatly over the million years the culture existed. As the language and the alphabet changed over the years, the language changed into new languages over time to the point where later generations were unable to read the work of their ancestors. It was not long before a tool was created to read not only Nethen, but the encryped Nethen language, Nethen Ciclimancy. The tool was known by the Nethen as the Nethen Oculary. Everyone since has known them as the Nethen Scope.
The Nethen scope looks like a retracted spy glass and is used in much the same way, but it does not retract. Through the use of Nethen Magic, the tool allows the reader to decipher the Nethen language varients, as well as the Nethen Ciclimancy. Most Nethen tools required the passphrase to decipher the secret language, but the scope used magic to bypass that need. The scope is also able to read most other languages which exist, but not all.
Nethen scopes are exceedingly rare, with only a few ever being found. Even at the height of the Nethen in Karenth Centralis, Continent of, the scopes were rare. Only a handful of them exist, and only a few of those still function.
In the event one of these items is found, it should be kept or sold for a very large sum of money to a scholar or organization such as the Order of Eight or one of the members of the Artifact Agreement.
