Roran Harbour Masters Journal

In the Rora, City of, the harbour master and his journeymen maintain a document of all incoming ships with as much detail as possible. The sequential volumes of works are stored away once completed in the Rora Castle and copies are granted to the Great Roran College of the Mystic Arts.   Within these volumes contains information about the ships including the names, cargo, the name of the captain and members of the crew and any passengers. In addition descriptions of the ships are placed inside the description and all the details of the voyage including all of the stops and planned stops. This information is required before the harbour master before the ship is allowed to continue on under penalty of death or confiscation of the vessel or both. Captains rarely complain, and those who make regular stops in Rora frequently write all this information ahead of time, and present it to the harbor master upon entry to the port. The harbour master then verifies it and provides a receipt once completed, thus allowing the ship to leave when ready.   The information in these volumes are studied for patterns and intelligence gathering. It's not uncommon for spy masters to review the current book on a daily or weekly basis looking for anything out of the ordinary. This information is important for keeping the location of Rora more or less secret with the exception of the captains who frequent the port.   There are typically between one and three such books per year as it often takes 2 to 5 pages per ship to document all of the information that can be gathered.   These books are closely guarded around the clock with 4 guards nearby at all times.
