Chronicles of the Tidal Company: Part 2
As we continued our way deeper into the lair it was decided we should head up to the next level, trying to be stealthy. Stealth was blown as The Captain's armor scraped in the hall coming upon the stairway leading up. A battle ensued with a number of sahuagin forces including a wave shaper. For a good portion of the fight Artyom, Jastiel, and Yarric were stuck in a vortex created by the wave shaper. After an extended battle with Torinn nearly being decapitated then killing the waveshaper, Arty taking out one of their champions, and myself killing four assorted sahuagin, our group came out victorious and looted the area. I personally found a very neat anemone in a vial in a side room.
After a short rest we came to the conclusion we all couldn't sneak further into the compound together, the risk was too high for everyone to chance it as a group. Keawe was elected to scout deeper and higher into the fortress given his general aptitude at being the quietest of our party. He made his way all the way to the top floor of the fortress, discovering a bit more about their defenses, relaying what he learned through our Rockie Talkies.
However on his way back to the group, he got a bit to close to a sahuagin battle group and bumped into one, alerting them of his presence. Another scuffle ensued while our Captain blocked the stairs to prevent any enemies from behind. The tide started to turn in their favor very early when another wave shaper appeared and caught Yarric, Keawe, Jastiel, and Artyom in a vortex. Shortly after this, an alarm horn sounded, marking our need to exit. We fought our way out of the group that Keawe had bumped into initially, making our way back towards the stairs from the second level to the lower level to make our retreat out of the compound. Another battle started after the defeat of the small group that ended with everyone fleeing our foes.
Captain Boldscale held the line as we retreated down the hallway towards the prison, following only after everyone had made it to the lowest level and guarding our back.
