Chronicles of the Tidal Company: Part 3
We continued toward the prison, with Jastiel and myself leading the group. Not long after our break from the enemy force on the second level, we rounded a corner and came face to face with another pair of sahuagin. A short scuffle ensued, and a total of four of the ugly fish people fell. Interestingly, during the battle, two earthquakes interrupted our fighting.
Two corners away from the exit, Father Plumb had the idea of dropping the ceiling behind us, effectively stopping any pursuit from our initial attackers. As a group we brought it down, with our faithful Captain providing the deciding blow against the stone ceiling at the intersection. The previous earthquakes had weakened the construction enough that we were able to bring it down.
Down the hall from this success, across from the fighting pits/gladiator arena lay our exit. In order to facilitate a seamless escape, I used my scroll of silent image to create the image of an empty hallway in the way to the secret door in the prison and our escape. Thankfully the image held as a sahuagin crept by and then continued on his way, oblivious to three of us just twenty feet away.
After our daring escape, we made landfall and found our way inland to a decent camp spot thanks to the help of both Keawe and Yarric. During the night we decided what our next course of action should be. We had too many weapons seized from the sahuagin compound to bring back on the boat with all of us. Eventually the decision was made to send the weapons we seized back on the boat with the Captain, and he would then inform the War Council of our findings; he also took one of the rockie talkies with him when we parted ways in the morning. The rest of us, Yarric, Keawe, Jastiel, Artyom, and myself, would return to town through the marshlands, arriving a day or two after Torinn and the arsenal.
