Chronicles of the Tidal Company: Part 4
As we made our way through the marshlands, things ended up being rather uneventful to be honest, though the first night we were kept up by insects. We made the outskirts of Mistbrooke in a day and a half or so without any waylaying vagabonds or wandering monsters. However, just past the marshlands, we came across The Tower of Zenopus, or what was left of it
The building was in ruins, a credit to its history. Fifty years ago, this tower was home to the Wizard Zenopus when a strange green fire surrounded the citadel one night. Servants of the wizard said he was destroyed by an errant experiment, and as such the tower laid empty in the days to come. The townsfolk, however, reported seeing ghostly lights from the windows and fey creatures dancing atop the roof during the night. In response to this, the Empire bombarded the keep with catapult-fire from the sea till it was reduced to rubble.
Upon approaching the ruins, we descended into the basement and came upon a door covered in runes and sealed shut with silver chains. The entire area radiated magic to Yarric's detection spell while I proceeded to dispel the magic on the door, allowing us to enter after Keawe busted the chains. Entering onto a small landing atop stairs descending into darkness, the air was bone chillingly cold.
