Chronicles of the Tidal Company: Part 5

At the bottom of the stairs, flickering light could be seen from everburning torches along the walls. Passing ahead of us down a corridor, from left to right, was a small gelatinous cube. The cute thing was a garbage disposal for the complex, I really must study one before we leave.   As we delved further into the complex, following the cube a short ways, away from the curious scent of cooking meat. The room we came upon contained two ghouls, an interesting zombie type creature that was made of worms (Plumb identified it as a Spawn of Talona), and a BEHOLDER ZOMBIE!! WE FOUGHT A BEHOLDER ZOMBIE, AND WE FUCKING WON! The battle was rather short, by luck I would imagine. Keawe managed both ghouls and Yarric finished the Spawn of Talona. After an enervation ray nearly killed me, I threw a fireball, wounding the beholder enough for Keawe to finish it off.   We found quite a haul in a secret compartment in the room, five scrolls, 5,000 platinum, and some sexy bracers that the group was kind enough to let me have; they let me cast a cantrip twice!   We continued further into the dungeon, following the everburning torches and patches of glowing (and regular) mushrooms. We saw multiple skirmishes in most of the rooms we came upon. A room filled with rats large and small, some diseased. One with three zombies, the reanimated corpses of The Blue Barracudas, an adventuring group that had years ago delved these same ruins, apparently to their misfortune. A room of skeletons helmed by a skeletal minotaur was our final battle before we rested after our exertion. The hall where the skeletons were contained six alcoves where the regular undead were residing when we entered. Upon investigation, Jastiel deduced the six would reanimate within these alcoves twenty four hours after their death. To prevent this from happening, he blessed the space, making it safe for us to rest.
